Southern Realms: Kahiko Weyr

Welcome to SouthernRealms: Kahiko Weyr is an alternate 11th Pass Weyr, located on the Southern Continent and set in a time when Thread is just about to fall again after a break of 1,000 turns.
It was founded almost 800 turns before as a safe haven for the Dragonriders after the Holders of the Northern Continent rallied against them when thread didn't arrive after the expected 200 turn break.
Unsure of what lay ahead, they travelled to the Southern Continent with their families and friends and a few hundred loyal Holders and their families intending to start anew in a new land.
Since then they have flourished as a people, but a plague 50 turns before the present day wiped out half the Holder Population and many of the Dragonrider and Weyrfolk as well.
Clutches have been few and far between for decades, but recently the two remaining queens both flew and clutched within weeks of each other.
Sadly, the old Weyrwoman Lorin rider of Gold Alramith, became ill and could not be cured. Instead of spending her last months suffering in agony she went between on her Gold, leaving a clutch on the sands, including a Gold egg, and was followed soon after by her Weyrmate K'zar rider of Bronze Mathurath.
Strangely, the old queens clutch was adopted by the younger golden queen, who had just laid her own clutch also containing a Gold egg, and has been caring for them since as if they were their own.
Tragedy struck once more, when three of the last four bronze riders and five of the last six brown riders disappeared on a trip back to the Northern Continent to retrieve some records for the Harper Hall from the old Weyrs. All riders have since been banned from travelling to the Northern Continent.
Now the Weyr is eagerly awaiting the upcoming hatchings and the hope that the new Dragonets will bring.
SoutherRealms: Kahiko Weyr is now all that stands in Thread's way from obliterating every living creature on Pern. Our small, and sometimes weird, community is in need of new members. That means that we need a new Weyrwoman & Weyrleader, a truckload of Candidates, Craft Masters, Apprentices, Journey Men and Woman, Dragon Riders, Drudges, and even Lord and Lady Holders.
